Black pride is a movement which encourages Black People to celebrate black culture and embrace their African heritage. In the United States, it was a direct response to racism especially during the Civil Rights Movement.

Based on a common goal dating back to the Atlantic Slave Trade, the movement extends beyond continental Africans with a substantial support base among the African diaspora in the Americas and Europe
